Solutions Storytelling for Planetary Health

Solutions Storytelling for Planetary Health
This workshop introduces the concepts and practices behind Solutions Journalism (also known as Constructive Journalism), a global movement that is changing the way news is reported.
Rejecting sensationalism and choosing not to fuel conflict, Solutions Journalism reports on how people are responding to the big problems of our times. It applies the rigorous practices of reportage to examine how people go about tackling wicked problems, how effective those strategies are, and how transferable and scalable solutions are. It focuses on what is happening, rather than what could or should happen, and by so doing provides options for the community to address both local and global challenges.
The Planetary Health Initiative is using these principles to share strategies local people are exploring and implementing to reduce the risk of future disasters. At this critical moment in global history, we are shining a light on the many ways we can drive the environmental, social and economic sustainability of our community.
If you are interested in becoming part of the Blue Mountains Planetary Health Initiative’s Volunteer Writing Team, this workshop will include information about how you can become involved.
This workshop is designed for people with some experience in writing and/or some knowledge of matters relating to planetary health.
