About the tutor
Georgina Donovan:
My interest with making things started whilst studying Industrial Design at the University of Canberra. From there I enrolled and studied fine furniture making under the late George
Ingham at the Canberra School of Art. Over the past 20 years I have worked independantly as a designer and maker of wooden objects in Canberra, Melbourne and the Blue Mountains.
Alongside this I have been teaching woodwork classes privately, in schools and at Univeristy level. Wood Carving is a recent passion for me that combines all these skills to make a beautiful object whilst providing a place to practice mindfulness.
As I blink my eyes… impressions, ideas and images are left for me to use. This and the relationship to the medium provide for me the starting point. Design is an amalgamation…
